maybe not the best you could have done

i'm sorry, this just isn't very good. i mean i'm sure you know this already, but it still needs to be said. i can see how you've got the beginning of something decent going here, and this isn't an awful movie for a learner, but i did not enjoy watching it very much. try using shape tweens between keyframes, they will work wonders for choppy movements and weird size changes as happen when you animate frame-to-frame. shape tweens are usually a bitch though, so maybe use different layers for different body parts. hard stuff, yes, but this is the road of a great animator that you have chosen to travel down.

How the hell do you make blood splatter look good, and not like a gigantic turd shooting out of a wound? I've never been able to do that...

well, first you start out with a big blob, and in each frame erase a little blood off of the previous frame. This should give u the effect of the blood dissolving into the air.

Ah, shit, viewing this was like having my eyes raped with a screwdriver.

But don't let that discourage you. You has potential. This sucked, and it reminded me of some of my early Flashes. Try filling in more of the shapes, or if you want a clear window, fill it light blue with alpha value 10% or something, so it's still transparent but you can still see that it's a window.

Keep trying. I'd love to see what you could do in a couple months, with practice.

Disappointing...

It was awesome animation, flawless execution, and everything about it was awesome, except the fight sequence itself. The blood was awesome, the moves were fluid, but, um... nothing interesting happened. Basically the one guy just hits the other guy a couple times and walks around.

Although I do have faith that you could do some pretty awesome shit if you had another shot at it.

Wtf was this? Seems like you just paraphrased the Wikipedia content, put it in that goofy StrawberryClock voice, and added some crappy animations to go with it. Nonetheless, where did you get that voice? I so desperately want to get one of those for my Flash.

Well...after making sprites myself this seems tame

Yeah...I dunno if my computer's a POS or the FPS was too low, but here's a pointer: Sprites usually look like shite if they're at anything below 20 FPS, that's just my opinion. In this case, I was dissappointed because the sprites looked awesome, but they were so damned slow that I couldn't appreciate their beauty (especially enlarged and pixelated). I could actually have submitted something half-decent to this collab if you would have asked me :)
